Health and Wellness Policy
January 2025

The West Hartford Women's Chorale strives to create a healthy environment for all participants. We have reached a season where voluntary actions and personal responsibility have replaced mandates. We ask that each member take good care of herself and her fellow singers to the best of her ability. What will this look like?

 · Mask optional: While masks are not required, all members are welcome to wear a mask for rehearsal and/or performances. Performance masks should be black.

 · Vaccinations: While we will no longer check vaccination status, we encourage all members to stay up to date on their vaccinations to best protect themselves and others.

 · Social distancing: A rehearsal seating chart will be developed once registration has been finalized. Singers will sit in close proximity to each other to facilitate hearing their fellow singers. However, all singers are welcome to take a more distanced seat toward the back of the room if that is their preference. We cannot offer social distancing at performances.

· Attendance: Every member of the Chorale is important to the group’s success. The WHWC has set a guideline attendance policy for members.  Members are expected to miss no more than 3 rehearsals during the fall semester and 4 rehearsals during the spring semester. This policy aims to support all singers as we strive toward concert readiness. While we acknowledge the value of a well-attended rehearsal for all, we will continue to prioritize the health of our singers. Please DO NOT attend rehearsal if you are experiencing cold & flu symptoms of any kind.

· Zoom: We will continue to offer the option to attend via Zoom. This is a great way to keep up to speed if you are feeling under the weather but are well enough to listen from home.

The WHWC reserves the right to adjust our Health & Wellness Statement to meet current conditions as needed.
