Community Connections
The West Hartford Women’s Chorale (WHWC) brings women’s voices together to strengthen community, celebrate artistry, and inspire the next generation. Since 2004, this women-led nonprofit has welcomed singers of all backgrounds, creating performances that enrich West Hartford’s cultural life.
Commitment to Music and Education
WHWC is known for hosting formal concerts that showcase the impressive talents of its members. Beyond stage, the Chorale invests in the future of music by awarding annual scholarships to student musicians. Student musicians regularly perform with the Chorale. This long-standing tradition emphasizes the Chorale’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of musical talent. Our efforts extend further, as we regularly perform benefit concerts, collaborate with local organizations, participate in community events such as Celebrate West Hartford, and launch projects that support other nonprofits in the area.

Community Collaborations
The Chorale also extends its impact by performing benefit concerts, collaborating with local organizations, participating in community events like the Wadsworth Festival of Trees and Traditions, West Hartford Stroll, West Hartford Festival of Trees, and Celebrate West Hartford.
Each year, WHWC members initiate projects that support other community nonprofits. Our members donate food and feminine hygiene products to support the West Hartford Food Pantry. The Chorale donates holiday trees to benefit two local Festivals of Trees during December. WHWC book drives have supported West Hartford student programs at HANOC community center and Second Chance Book Store.
Festival of Women’s Voices
A hallmark of the WHWC is our biannual Festival of Women’s Voices. This unique, multigenerational event brings together women from various age groups, offering them the opportunity to collaborate and perform with a female guest composer. The festival is designed to foster connections across generations and celebrate a rich diversity of musical perspectives. Each festival also features a charity partner who receives proceeds from the event.
