Community

Our goal is to provide music and music education for the benefit of the community. The following are a few examples of our recent activities
to support this mission.

WHWC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

School Collaborations
WHWC actively seeks opportunities to join school groups to enhance their performances. We also provide young artists with opportunities to perform with the Chorale. Recent collaborations included students from Smith Elementary School, Bristow Middle School and the Hall High School Orchestra. The Chorale also contributes to a yearly scholarship awarded to a West Hartford Public School graduating student who will be pursuing further music education.

Community Collaborations
WHWC regularly performs for the benefit of other charitable organizations such as Celebrate! West Hartford, The Harriet Beecher Stowe CenterThe Wadsworth Athenaeum Festival of Trees, The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and participated in the Noah Webster 100th Birthday Celebration.

Gifts of Music
A portion of all our concert proceeds are donated to the West Hartford Gifts of Music Program. This program provides financial assistance in the form of instruments and lessons to promising students in need.

Aurora Women and Girls Foundation
WHWC hosted a women's collaborative concert involving four vocal music groups to benefit Aurora, which directly funds women and girls' charities.
